Hysterectomy

The female reproductive system is delicate and can be susceptible to disease. Where medical treatments have been unsuccessful, surgical intervention is sometimes necessary.

A hysterectomy is a surgical process that removes the uterus when a patient continues experiencing chronic pain, abnormal bleeding or other problems due to:
  • Fibroids,
  • Uterine prolapse,
  • Cancer of the uterus, cervix, or ovaries,
  • Endometriosis, and
  • Adenomyosis, for example

A hysterectomy is considered as the last option once all other treatment approaches have been tried without success.
